Imagine a film that can be used to make mini movies or animations with your camera! This film is actually designed for making cine films, so when you shoot it, you can get unique, somewhat contrasty black and white images that feel very cinematic. It's not your everyday film, but super cool for creative projects and unique visual stories.
Fomapan R is a panchromatic black and white reversal (positive) film, primarily designed for motion picture applications (double-perforation for 16mm or single-perforation for 8mm). When used for still photography, it can be processed as a direct positive (reversal) film to yield black and white transparencies, or it can be processed as a negative. As a reversal film, it has a nominal ISO of 100/21°. It typically produces images with good contrast, fine grain (when properly exposed and processed), and a distinctive tonal scale characteristic of reversal emulsions. The results can be quite striking, offering deep blacks and crisp whites. While more challenging to work with than standard negative films due to its reversal nature and sensitivity to exposure accuracy, Fomapan R is a unique option for those seeking a direct positive black and white image, or for photographers looking to experiment with a cinematic emulsion for stills.
